Is Nissan Kwid Competition possible?
Looking at the increasing demand in the Micro SUV Segment, Nissan wants to get a piece of success from this segment. So what if they plan to bring a car based on the platform of the Kwid. For now the company is busy to bring the Magnite SUV but having a Micro SUV in the lineup will tighten up their SUV lineup.
Nissan Kwid Competition
Kwid got a mid-life facelift last year. This has given the car a good look which made it look better than the competition. Renault Kwid has one of the most radical-looking front designs which gives it the look of a big car. The Renault Kwid has been a hit in the under Rs 10 lakh space. There are a lot of other competitors like the Maruti Spresso which also have been gaining numbers because of their small size and easy to maintain features.
Nissan Price
Nissan Kwid Competition will be placed in the under 7 lakh segment. It will be based on the CMF-A+ platform. This platform is used for the Kwid and is localised in India. So keeping the prices low might not be a problem. Also, the Nissan Magnite SUV will be coming to the market soon. This will give Nissan sometime to have a localisation system for this car. Also getting the same engine as the Kwid might help it reduce some costs. But still, then the car will not be priced lower than the Renault Kwid.
Nissan Kwid Competition Features
It is too early to comment on the features of this Nissan Kwid Competition. But we do expect something in the segment first. Having a primitive connected cars feature might be something new in this segment. Also having the top of the line feature will increase the price of the Nissan Kwid Competition. This segment is very price sensitive and therefore offering value for money might be the real target of the company.
We can not miss the fact that this is a mass-market approach. The increasing demand for SUV will saturate at some point and there will be a shift towards sedans too.
