The Auto Show in Los Angeles promises to be a cracker of an event with some delectable models expected to make their appearance there. The all-new Range Rover Evoque in soft-top guise will be making its debut too. Those of you who would love to have this sublime compact luxury-SUV in their life can rejoice, as word is trickling in that Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) will indeed be doing a limited production run.

According to reports, the Land Rover Evoque in convertible guise will be built at Land Rover’s Halewood plant in England. Company officials have remained non-committal on the exact numbers for the drop top variant, though they are stressing that it will indeed be a small-production run, for sure. The Evoque Convertible will be on sale next year in all the key markets where the regular Evoque SUV has already made its mark. With China, Europe and United States being the key markets where the demand is expected to come from, it will be interesting to see just how many units will make it to our shores.

The Evoque already holds the distinguished position of being Jaguar Land Rover’s most-successful model and the drop-top edition shall only cement this position further. Gerry McGovern – Land Rover’s Design Head, went on to state that the Evoque variant will have a folding drop-top that’s aimed at people living a refined & luxurious lifestyle. The Evoque Convertible will also be the open-air, luxury compact SUV according to the manufacturer.

Jaguar Land Rover will be pricing the Evoque Convertible above the regular hard-top edition, though exact prices are still to be confirmed.
