Tata Connected Car experience in the Altroz

The connected cars are Tata’s very own connected car technology.

It is seen on all modern cars such as the Tata Altroz and is expected to be seen on all the new cars that will be launched by the company and also in updates of any existing models in the future. Tata has partnered up with Microsoft to bring this technology to its cars.

Overview

Most of the car companies are coming up with their range of Smart Connect Tech. Hyundai is also updating its cars with its range of smart connected tech. called blue smart link technology. Most other cars even in the budget range have all been getting smart connect tech and standard features like Apple Car Play and Android Auto whilst also getting stuff like connected tech that lets you control some of the cars features through an application on your phone itself.

“Connected Car” from outside

The smart technology on the Altroz called the Connected Car experience features many such technologies. From outside the car itself, you get the controls to lock or unlock the car which can be said to be an advance version of the keyless entry that is seen on the cars. You can also switch on the lights from the outside which does help if the car is parked in a dark area with no lights. You can check the vehicle health which showcases different parts of the car such as the battery and oil temperature and will inform you if there is any kind of underlying problem in the car through in-car notifications. The system also showcases your service history and informs you the number of days that are left for the next service for the car. It also provides you updates for the system and manages your calendar as well.

“Connected Car” from inside

The Connect Car experience also has a virtual interaction system. The system includes features like to greet you when you enter and also automatically showcase the fastest route to your workplace.

You can also give it commands to play certain songs that you have stored in the car, to call a particular person, display real-time traffic alerts. It can also give you suggestions for food and beverages, and other things like placing an order in the restaurant you want through the app itself along with shopping ideas and also parking places that are available near your destination.

Safety

All of these functions will allow an individual to rarely take their hands off the steering wheel or also look into the infotainment screen which in turn increases the safety levels of the car. The Connected Car experience also has stuff like intrusion alert, advanced tracking of the car and remote immobilisation.
