The all-new Honda City has been launched in Thailand.

This same model is expected to launch in India soon. We are all expecting a very premium and luxurious sedan from honda. But the other thing that concerns us all about any new vehicle is the safety rating.

This problem has now been answered. The Honda City Safety is not at all compromised and the vehicle is very safe as per ASEAN NCAP.

The other details regarding the Honda City safety and the crash test results are mentioned further.

Honda City Safety Results

The all-new Honda City gets a complete 5-star crash test rating. The crash test has been carried out by ASEAN NCAP. The rating is the third time when the Thailand spec Honda City Safety has been awarded the maximum number of stars. The Third gen and the fourth-gen of the Honda City were given 5-star ratings by ASEAN NCAP in 2012 and 2014 respectively.

The Honda City Safety gets an overall score of 86.54 out of 100. The full frontal-offset impact and the side impact test. This also tests the evaluation of safety features on the car. These include the airbags systems which give the Honda City a score of 44.83 for adult protection and 22.85 for child protection. The safety assist technology gets 18.89 points.

Honda City Safety features

The Honda City which was put to test comes with G-CON. This is a G-force control body structure. The car is also equipped with 6 airbags and the braking forces are electronically distributed along with ABS.

The New Honda City features vehicle stability assist under which come to the hill start assist, emergency stop signal and multi-view reverse camera. The ASEAN NCPA has a strict requirement for the 5-star rating and Honda City Safety qualifies for that. We expect that the car will also perform well in the Global NCAP testing.

Honda City India

The all-new Honda City that is set to come to India is similar to the Thailand version. There will be numerous changes in the vehicle. These may include some mechanical changes and they might alter the safety of the car but the chassis of the vehicle might remain the same and 50 per cent of the safety of the vehicle will be decided with the chassis. Although this might be true that Honda might launch a longer wheelbase version of the City in India. The car will also have higher ground clearance.

Honda City Engine

The Honda City that we expect in India will get a BS6 compliant engine and it might be a 1.5-litre petrol engine. This will be coupled with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The option of a CVT gearbox will be there too. The car will also get a diesel engine which has already been introduced on the Honda Amaze. We could also see a mild-hybrid version of the Honda City in India.
