Abarth Punto Spied in both colours

The Abarth Punto was spied in both its colors recently, just ahead of its launch scheduled on 19th October. The hot hatch will be available in Black and White colours with Abarth branding instead of Fiat.

The Abarth Punto will come with a 1.4-litre T-JET engine that produces about 144bhp of power and will come mated to a five-speed manual transmission. This is the most powerful hatchback one can procure under INR 11 lakhs and Fiat has ensured it caters to the enthusiasts with a manual transmission. The ARAI mileage of the Abarth Punto is 16.3km/l and it does 0-100km/hr in 8.8 seconds.

The Abarth Punto will directly rival the Volkswagen Polo GT TSI. The Polo GT TSI derives itspower from a 1.2-litre TSI petrol motor ,that produces 105bhp. The Abarth Punto will have around 40bhp more power than the Polo GT TSI, thus crowning it as the most powerful hatchback in the country.

It will also get 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, Abarth decals on sides, wing mirrors and grille in contrasting accents and also a rear spoiler. The cabin also receives a few changes including seats with contrast stitching in red and yellow and Abarth badge on steering wheel among others. A stiffer suspension setup and a ride height lowered by 20mm will add to better handling of the car. The Abarth Punto will also feature disc brakes on on four wheels.

Bookings for the Abarth Punto are open for INR 50,000, across Fiat showrooms in the country.
