Its been very disappointing news for all the Suzuki Hayabusa lovers. It was a dream bike of many 90s kids and was the poster of their wall. Now after two decades, the Hayabusa has discontinued the superbike. Its been a very long journey for any bike in history. In India, it was famously known as Dhoom bike. The bike surely has a place in the motorcycle cultural memory of India.

The latest model was in the second generation of the bike which was launched back in 2007. However, from then the bike did not get any major update. The manufacturer gave it many slight tweaks period by period such as colour, graphics, etc. Not giving a major update is not a bad thing at all because it is well said that if it ain’t broke then why fix it. The design itself has become a legend and will be remained untouched as like other classic bikes.

The latest version of the bike was launched in December 2019, so many of the fanboys thought that it could be ready to meet the BS6 norms. However, Suzuki launched the BS4 version with some colour updates and new graphics. If you are lucky enough you can still get this legendary superbike if there is stock left.

The price that was registered the last was Rs 13.

80 lakhs(ex-showroom). Which makes it the most affordable 1.3-litre bike. The closest bike that competes against Hayabusa is Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R.

Powerhouse

The bike possesses 1340 cc four-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that is able to produce staggering 197 bhp max power and mind-numbing 155 Nm of peak torque. The bike is a road rocket that can go beyond 300 kmph, but due to safety reasons, the top speed of the bike is limited to 299 kmph. Even today the bike gives very tough competition for the newly developed bikes. It is by far the king of speed and was positioned as worlds fastest bike for most of the time.

The bike was assembled in India and the parts were imported from Japan. Now it has been officially confirmed that the Suzuki has shut down the production of the current generation Hayabusa. But it will be still on sale in some countries until it completely sells the stock.

Next Generation Hayabusa

It has been suggested that Suzuki is working on the next generation Hayabusa. It has been reported that it has patented the design and other elements. So we may get a bang surprise from the Suzuki in the coming year. The design language is expected to be same but the bike will now be made to match the modern-day requirements. As this new really puts back the smile and also makes eager. We really hope it to be unveiled soon.
