Honda officially teased about the upcoming Dio BS6. The teaser showed many cues of the design and changes. It is expected to be priced below recently launched Honda 6G, which is priced at Rs 65,535(ex-showroom).

Design

Starting from the front the Honda Dio BS6 will have different LED headlamp setup compared to BS4. The LED DRLs will have a different outline and pattern compared to its predecessor. It will now have completely different visor, which is more clean and subtle. The front panel has now much cleaner and neatly organized cuts than BS4. The front panel has now two new carbon fibre textured faux air vents attached at the side. The panel is now much bigger in size.

The rear passenger grab-rails are now a completely new unit. The BS4 model has a single grab-rail unit, while the BS6 version has dual-split grab-rails. The major change is made with the suspension, it now comes with the telescopic suspension at the front. The digital instrument layout is a bit different than BS4 unit.

Powertrain

The Honda Dio BS6 will retain the same BS4 engine with the BS6 updates. The engine is 109 cc single-cylinder four-stroke unit but now will have fuel injection. The BS4 version produces 7.7 bhp max power and 8.8 Nm peak torque. However, the BS6 engine might have some drop in power figures. The BS6 version will have better throttle response compared to BS4. The Dio BS6 will have the ECG starter motor, which is super duper silent. This motor was previously seen in BS6 Activa 125 and Activa 6G. The mileage of the scooter will have an increase of 11-12 per cent compared to BS4.

It is expected that Honda Dio BS6 will have engine kill switch and side stand engine inhibitor, as both these features were seen on the recently launched Activa 6G.

Price

The price of Honda Dio BS6 will see some hike of Rs 6,000 to Rs 8,000. The current model is priced at Rs 52,512(ex-showroom) and goes up at Rs 54,512(ex-showroom) for DLX variant. It is expected to be launch within upcoming two weeks. It will compete against Yamaha Ray ZR.
