The Ignis was the third car launched in the Nexa showrooms by Maruti. So now after almost four years, the car is due for a facelift.

We can actually show you how the 2020 Maruti Ignis facelift will look as the official images of the car have surfaced online. The Ignis is currently the most affordable car available in Nexa. The car has been a great seller for Maruti and will be available in 2020 with a new avatar. So scroll down below to check out the changes, new pictures and information on the upcoming Ignis.

2020 Maruti Ignis facelift Changes?

Let’s talk about looks first. The front of the Ignis looks like it has now received a grille inspired by the new S-Presso. The front bumper below is new too. The car also seems to get new fog lamps with different housing. The car will also get a new design of alloy wheels if we look at the side. The side of the car itself does not reveal any changes in the car. It continues to get roof-rails. The rear (scroll down) too is similar with no changes made to the taillights of the car. Here we see a new rear faux skid plate which is more accentuated on the bumper than before. Overall for the design and exterior, these are the only changes. Maruti will also offer the Ignis with new trendy colors and decal options which will make the car look fresher.

The interior, on the other hand, has not been spied or spotted. We expect the car to get new upholstery, the touchscreen interface from last year’s newly launched WagonR. Nothing more is expected here.

Specifications

The 2020 Maruti Ignis facelift will continue to be based on the Hearteck platform and get the 1.2-litre BS6 petrol engine which comes with a 5-speed manual and AMT. The car also gets a host of safety features like airbags, ABS and a reverse parking camera.

The only change here we will see is – post 1st April with the BS6 norms kicking in, you won’t be able to buy the car with a diesel engine as Maruti is not planning to sell diesels after BS6 kicks in.

Price and Competiton

The facelifted car will be more expensive and will cost more than the current car which is priced between Rs 4.7 lakhs and Rs 7 lakhs. We can expect to see this car at the 2020 Auto Expo and be launched there. It will continue to compete with the Tata Tiago and its own cousin the WagonR.
