Maruti XL5 What is it?

Essentially, it is the Maruti WagonR that has been spruced up enough so that it can pass through the doors of a Nexa dealership. So what does the sprucing up involve?

Like we recently saw the Maruti XL6, there will be considerable changes to the exterior.

Like we can see the spy shots, the front of the car has been changed completely. The hood is now more curved with the design completely changed, there is a new split headlight design with a DRL and lower fog lamps, a new grille also has been applied. The side is where there are the least changes involved, the silhouette of the car is unmistakably WagonR and has not changed.

The only change on the side is that the car now gets black alloy wheels from the Maruti Ignis. In the rear, we can see that the taillights are going to be the same as the WagonR. On the inside, we can expect better upholstery and some more features that we will come to know close to the unveiling of this car.

Maruti XL5 side

The car will be using the same engine from the WagonR in the same state of tune – the 1.2-litre BS6 compliant engine that produces 82 bhp and 113Nm of torque. This engine will get the option of both a five-speed manual and an AMT gearbox.
