New Ford EcoSport launched at INR 7.47 lakhs (on-road)

Ford India has launched the new EcoSport starting at INR 747,519 (on-road, Delhi). Ford has further enhanced its compact SUV by introducing several first-in-segment and best-in-class features.

The new EcoSport comes with Ford’s 1.5L TDCi diesel engine with an improved peak power of 98bhp that delivers an improved . The improved and more powerful diesel motor is claimed to deliver a mileage of 22.27 km/l. This will be mated to a five-speed manual transmission.  The new EcoSport also has a ‘Trend+’ variant with the 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine that produces 123bhp of power with a class-leading fuel economy of 18.88 km/l while emitting 15% less CO2. The new Trend+ variant will be offered with a choice of the 1.5-litre TDCi diesel engine as well.

There is also an option of the 1.5-litre TiVCT petrol engine that delivers 110bhp of power and a fuel efficiency of 15.85 km/l. The petrol engine will be paired with both five-speed manual transmission as well as a six-speed dual clutch PowerShift automatic transmission.

The new EcoSport’s bold and dynamic front fascia has an addition of signature light guide. The vehicle will also feature daytime running lights/fog lamps . The interiors receive some chrome treatment on inner door handles, cluster ring and cluster applique, window regulator switches and air register tabs. The handbrake lever and steering wheel now comes in leather, as well as premium leather seats are now offered. Features like rain sensing wipers and automatic headlamps alongwith, electrochromic mirror that automatically deflects a beam of light from trailing vehicles to minimise obstruction to drivers.

The new EcoSport comes in a new colour – Golden Bronze, apart from 8 other colours including Mars Red, Diamond White, Panther Black, Kinetic Blue, Moondust Silver, Chill Metallic and Smoke Grey.
