2020 Toyota Innova Crysta – Will there be a FACELIFT?

The 2020 Toyota Innova Crysta is going to be a model year update? a facelift? will it get a BS6 engine? Actually yes to all. The Toyota Innova has been a car that has not required tons of marketing or advertisement. It’s the ultimate family hauler, long trip machine and expedition car that everyone likes.

Things that work in its favor are – low cost of maintenance, hassle-free driving experience, great ride quality and at the end of the day, great resale value. The cost of buying a brand new Innova has gone up in the recent years with the top variant – Touring Sport costing Rs 23.48 lakhs (ex-showroom). So what is in store for us in 2020 when it comes to the Innova.

What will change?

The Toyota Innova will first of all become BS6 compliant.

The 2020 Toyota Innova Crysta is probably going to get the BS6 version of the following engines – 2.4L diesel, 2.7L Dual VVT-i diesel, 2.8L diesel and 2.7L petrol engines These produce 148bhp – 343Nm, 164bhp – 245Nm, 172bhp – 360Nm and 164bhp – 245Nm respectively.

We might see a power decrease but if nothing happens, we will see no change in the power figures or driving characteristics of the Innova Crysta. The other changes to the Innova will come in the form of new headlights, taillights and alloy wheels. Toyota will not change a lot as it will increase the cost too much and the current shape of the car is well received.

Apart from that, the interior of the car will include a new touchscreen unit and the car will finally get Android Auto and Apple Carplay. Upholstery and storage should remain the same in this car and there should not be a change there.

Prices and Competiton?

The pricing should not change much but should increase marginally with the introduction of BS6 engines. The increase in price should be around 10% to 15%. The 2020 Toyota Innova Crysta will continue to compete with the Mahindra Marazzo, Maruti Ertiga and the Tata Hexa.
