2020 MG Hector 6 seater will be a very well thought of move by the brand MG. Looking at the sales of the MG Hector, it clearly shows that they have a good start to their journey in the indian market. Now this company has opened an avenue for a 6 seater. This speculation has been confirmed with the help of the spy shots of the vehicle that we have seen. The vehicle has been spotted at Halol while being tested.

The main change in the vehicle is the new form of the LED day time running lights. They have a tri-point design which is quite unique. The lower bumper of the vehicle has a tweaked headlamp layout too. From the rear, if we take a look then the rear bumper has also been revamped. It has a faux skid plate with fake exhaust vents. Even the vehicle has a new set of diamond cut alloy wheels. These changes will give the vehicle a different look thereby making it noticeable in a crowd. Now, these changes might also translate into the updated version of the Hector.

The 2020 MG Hector 6 seater will be seen with a different name. As Tata is also introducing the Harrier in a 7 seater version with the name Gravitas it will be an inspiration for MG too. Another thing about the vehicle that it will introduce a new colour, probably blue. Now in the international market, the vehicle is seen in a 7 seater avatar but this will change because the test vehicle is seen with captain seats.

The powertrain of the vehicle will remain the same. It is the same 1.5-litre turbo petrol and the other will be the Fiat-sourced 2.0-litre diesel motor. The petrol engine is powerful to produce a power of 140 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. It is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and a DCT automatic. Both these engines will get a BS6 update soon.

The company has not revealed the exact timeline of the launch of the vehicle. We expect this 6 seat version to launch in mid-2020. The main competitors of the vehicle will be the Kia Seltos 7 seater and Tata Gravitas.

Price of the vehicle will also be competitive but as there is no vehicle in this segment currently it is difficult to predict. A premium of around Rs 1 lakh can be expected over the Hector, which is priced from Rs 12.48 lakh to Rs 17.28 lakh (ex-showroom). For now we expect the MG Hector to get a BS6 update.

This might increase the price of the vehicle by Rs 20,000 – Rs 30,000. Click the link below to know about Tata Gravitas
