Our spies spotted a Renault prototype out testing that made us scratch our heads at first.  Then we thought if this is yet another crossover? Well, after checking the photos and comparing we came to one answer: This has to be a Grand Captur!

Renault Grand Captur (4)

Checking the side profile this prototype matches pretty much the one of the Captur, except for the longer rear overhang. After asking some of our Renault insiders we hear that a longer and roomier Grand Captur was actually in the pipeline. And while the regular Captur only has 4 wheel bolts, this one has 5. We suspect that because of the higher load capacity.

We also learned that the Captur is up for an facelift for 2017, so this will likely mean that this Grand Captur is already testing the facelift as well.

Renault Captur for India?

We had previously stated that the Captur will be making its way into India as well as Renault and Nissan are looking at getting the entire range of CMF platform to India.

The CMF-A is on which the Renault Kwid is built and the other range of SUVs will also be built on this same platform itself. This will be equivalent to Duster in its size, however it will be priced more than it and will even be more premium as well.
