Mahindra Rs 15 lakh SUV to compete with Creta

The Mahindra XUV 300 is a vehicle that has seen great success in the market. Looking at the increasing competition in the SUV market Mahindra has decided to launch another different size of the XUV lineup. This will be called as the XUV 400. For now, we shall expect Mahindra Rs 15 lakh SUV to compete with Hyundai Creta. Currently, there is no direct competition to the Creta from Mahindra. The XUV 500 falls above the Creta in terms of both size and price. The XUV 300 although its seating capacity is the same it falls short in terms of space and comfort. Mahindra wants its share in this market of Compact SUV and so it will launch the XUV 400. 

Mahindra XUV 400 Launch

The launch of this Mahindra Rs 15 lakhs will be seen around April. That means the vehicle will come after the BS6 emission compliance. The vehicle will be seen with BS6 compliant engine and the launch is expected to be surrounded with the soft launch of other BS6 vehicles in the lineup. Although this vehicle is a Creta competitor, it is expected to come in a  7 seater vehicle.

This will be done keeping in foresight of the arrival of the Creta 7 seater.

Mahindra XUV 400 Price

The XUV 500 is priced at Rs 12 lakh to 18 lakhs and the XUV 300 is priced at Rs 8 lakhs to 12 lakhs. This means that Mahindra will launch a Rs 15 lakh SUV approximately. This vehicle will be seen in a price range of Rs 10 Lakh to Rs 15 lakhs. The pricing will be in sync with the price of the Hyundai Creta. The Hyundai Creta is priced at Rs 10 lakhs to Rs 15 lakhs. All the above-mentioned prices are ex-showroom prices. The Seven Seater version of the vehicle will be considerably priced high.

Mahindra XUV 400 Interior

The interiors of this vehicle will feature leather seats, as the leather will give it an upmarket feel as well as a strong feel. Keeping the buying nature of the people the vehicle will be made premium while being tough. The XUV line up already looks premium than the other Mahindra SUVs. The interior will have a dual-tone dashboard.

The colours might be seen on the darker side as a combination of the black and grey might have been seen. This Mahindra Rs 15 lakh SUV will definitely have a more advanced centre console. The console will support an Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Along with this, the instrument console of the vehicle will be digital completely but it will show analog dials on the digital display. More features like Power and torque figures will also be displayed with a lot of other information from the various sensors on the vehicle. The steering column is expected to be adjustable for columns and rake too.

The seats have a leather feel. The rear seat might also get an armrest. The armrest will feature cup holders. 

Mahindra XUV 400 Exterior

The front of the vehicle will be similar to XUV 300. This Mahindra Rs 15 lakh SUV will have a lot of visual bulk like the XUV500. There will be generous use of chrome. The chrome of the vehicle will provide it with the class and style while the body line will give it the visual stance and toughness.The vehicle will also have LED projector headlamps. The grill will have the shark style grille as on the Marrazzo. Clear use of chrome to give it a stance will be seen. A body colours body cladding will be provided and a silver faux skid plate will be given at the front and the rear. The badging of the vehicle will be seen at the on the bonnet and the badging will be slightly bigger than usual. The car will be offered 17-inch wheels which are big enough for an SUV. A use of squared wheel arches might be seen to keep in the trend of the SUVs of the year.

Mahindra XUV 400 Engine

This Mahindra Rs 15 lakh SUV will be powered by a 1.5-litre GDI Motor. The Engine will be the same as on the Marazzo. Under the hood, in the Euro-spec version, there will be a 1.5-litre GDI naturally aspirated direct-injection four-cylinder petrol engine. This engine has already been designed for a 7 seater. The vehicle will have proper power and torque for the 7 seaters.

Mahindra XUV 400 Features

We are expecting the following features on the vehicle

  • 360° Camera
  • Ventilated Seats
  • Powered Driver’s Seat
  • Front and Rear Parking Sensors
  • Sunroof
  • Air Purifier
  • Automatic Climate Control
  • Rear AC Vents

Along with this connected car system will be seen on the vehicle. This will allow the user to control certain functions of the vehicle with the help of the smartphone. The XUV 400 is supposed to change the image of Mahindra in the minds of people.

Mahindra XUV 400 Competition

Mahindra Rs 15 lakh SUV  will compete with the Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos. Both these cars are expected to receive a 7seater version. Along with this, it will also compete with the MG hector 7 seaters. Upcoming cars like the MG Hector 7 seater, Kia SP and brands like Citroen will make sure that Creta is always on its toes.
