MG Baojun 510

The exteriors of the vehicle are quite similar to the MG Hector. The front grill is the same as on the hector. The daytime running lights are placed in line with the hood line. The headlights have been placed below it. They also engulf the fog lamps.

The lower part of the grille gets a  skid plate. It a faux skid plate but adds to the visual appeal. The main grille hosts the big and bold MG logo. The side profile will consist of body-colored door handles and ORVMs with alloy wheels. The car will be slightly bigger in dimensions than the Hyundai Creta. This will translate in more space and boot space. The wheels get squared wheel arches. This is somewhat that robs the show of the vehicle. But after all, it is a commuter SUV which has does not need to look sporty.

MG Baojun 510 Safety

  • ELECTRONIC STABILITY PROGRAM

Electronic Stability Program improves the car’s stability by detecting and reducing lack of traction. ESP detects loss of steering control and automatically applies the brakes to help steer the car where the driver intends to go

  • TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM

MG Hector is engineered to deliver the best driving experience. Our Traction Control System helps us achieve that by avoiding the wheel-slip, and keeping the car under control during slipping or skidding.

  • HILL HOLD CONTROL

We’ve made sure that you feel safe driving on any terrain. The Hill Hold Control system lets you enjoy the mountains as much as the highway. It prevents roll back on a slope when you release the brake and switch to the accelerator pedal.

  • ABS-EBD

Anti-Brake System and the Electronic Brake-Distribution System take care of the engine and the braking system during sudden braking. It also keeps you from skidding even when you brake really hard.

  • BRAKE ASSIST

A travel sensor attached to the brake pedal allows the Brake Assist system to detect when the driver attempts an emergency stop and, regardless of the amount of pressure actually applied, apply maximum braking force until the car is brought to a halt. Hence, keeping you and your car safe in emergency situations.

  • ROLL FORMED DOOR BEAMS

MG Hector uses rolled form door beams which improve strength and rigidity for doors as compared to flat stamped beams. They have a larger cross-section area which makes the door stronger and safer to withstand impact.

MG Hector 7-Seater Hybrid

MG is also offering the car with a hybrid variant that uses a 48-volt mild hybrid system. A 48-volt lithium-ion battery helps store energy and provide extra torque assistance of up to 20 Nm when required. The combination also helps in reducing emissions by up to 12 percent using three key functions – Engine Auto Start-Stop, Regenerative Braking and E-Boost. The hybrid system has one disadvantage. This eats up space under the first-row passenger seat. Although this is small, what it does is that it does not leave any space for electric seat adjustment to the front passenger seat.
