Maruti Swift is one of the most popular car brands in India. Its been a decade since this hatchback has been ruling the roads. Its new avatar has once again become a hot seller and has a waiting period as well. The car has now been updated again. The 2020 Maruti swift will get a minor update. The car might see a slight facelift but nothing major. The car has to be priced well and there won’t be much of a price increase. This is one hot hatch in Maruti’s line up. The 2019 Maruti Swift was already BS6 compliant. This means there won’t be any change in engine. Find out ahead what changes in the upcoming 2020 Maruti Swift.
So like the Baleno, the Swift’s 1.2-litre, four-cylinder K12B engine, too, has been upgraded to comply with the more stringent emission norms that’ll come into effect from April next year. That said, there are no changes in power output and the engine continues to produce 83bhp and 113Nm of torque, and also has the same fuel efficiency figure as before of 22km/l. Along with the Swift, the Maruti WagonR too has been updated.
Maruti Swift 2019 did not get any additional features. But this can not be said about the new 2020 upcoming model. There will be some changes as mentioned before.

The launch of this car will be a soft launch. The car will arrive around April 2020 right before the BS6 norms come into implementation. The Maruti Swift is a people’s favourite car and the audience will be waiting for a better version of it.
The prices now start at Rs 5.14 lakh for the base LXi variant which is an increase of Rs 15,000 over the BS4-spec LXi. We will update the pricing table as soon as we get more information.

The petrol engine will remain the same. The diesel engine will be discontinued as Maruti has been declared before. This engine will be carried over from the earlier generation car. The lighter weight has a positive effect on the performance of the car. It will also return good fuel efficiency. The Maruti Swift 2020 will sell more of petrol engines. This is the most powerful in its segment and also fun to drive. The lighter bodyweight delivers a good performance.
This is the best petrol performer in its segment. The engine is silent as well. It is free from vibrations even at high engine speeds. in 2020 Maruti could also launch the Swift RS. This will have the 1.0-litre booster jet engine. That will an excellent performer. The option for CNG might be introduced to this car. As the car is doing away with diesel engine a CNG option might able to cover some loss.

This is a sub-4 metre hatchback. The Swift is now wider than the earlier generation and also has a longer wheelbase. The dimensions will be identical in 2020 also. The ground clearance of 163mm also will remain and this is a good point about the Swift.
There will be no change in the looks of the Maruti Swift 2020. It is exactly the same as now. The front is different from the Dzire, especially the grille. There will be LED DRls, but only on the top end Zxi+/Zdi+ variants. There will not be any change to the exteriors of the car. The silhouette will remain the same and the C-pillar will be a blackened one. The rear door handle will be mounted on the top. The tail lamps will also be the same.
The interiors will be no change either. The Swift 2020 will also have all-black interiors. This theme suits the sporty character of the car. The same sporty-looking steering wheel with a flat bottom will be offered. The leather-wrapped wheel will be there on higher variants. The touchscreen will be the same but will get updated software, with navigation. It will continue to have Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, reverse camera, Bluetooth, USB and aux also. The seat fabrics may see a change. There might be a new design offer, for a refresh. The luggage space of the Swift 2020 will be good, just like the current car.

Fuel efficiency will be the high point of the Maruti Swift 2020 once again. The petrol engine will have good efficiency. The manual petrol will return 13km/l in the city, AMT will be 12km/l.
The Swift 2020 will mainly compete with the Hyundai Grand i10, Maruti Ignis (to an extent) and new Ford Figo. This will again be feature loaded car, combined with good performance and fuel efficiency.
