Yamaha Saluto RX Preview
Yamaha Saluto RX is the latest bike in the Saluto family. The Saluto RX is a 110cc motorcycle. In order to carry forward the legacy of Yamaha RX100, this bike has RX added to it. Light weight and good fuel-efficiency is one of the strongest points for the Yamaha Saluto RX. The bike has been priced aggressively. Japanese bike maker is looking at storming the market and capturing a good chunk for itself. Is it value for money? We find out.
Yamaha Saluto RX Price in India
This bike has a price tag of INR 51,000 (on-road, Delhi) approximately. It is a highly competitive pricing and the company is looking at boosting its sales by re-entering the 110cc bike segment. Yamaha has priced it highly competitively against the competition of the Honda Yuga, Livo, the upcoming Hero Splendor iSmart 110. Yamaha has worked its way in developing this new bike at this price.

Saluto RX is similar in styling to the Saluto. The light weight makes it deliver good performance. It gets dual tone paint job and it even gets electric start as well.

Yamaha Saluto RX Engine
An all-new engine does duty on the Saluto RX. Yamaha wanted to make a winner bike that has good performance and is high on mileage. The Saluto RX comes with a 110cc engine. This engine produces 8bhp of power and 7.5Nm of peak torque. This was codenamed as E3U and it comes mated to a four-speed manual transmission. The new 110cc has been designed keeping the fuel efficiency and the power in mind. Yamaha bikes have been more about performance, with the Saluto RX it is targeting the mass riding market.

The SalutoRX will come in four colours: breezy blue, matt black, inspiring red and gleaming black.

New Yamaha SalutoRX has a fuel efficiency of 82km/l. This has been achieved by reducing the weight of the bike and of course an highly fuel-efficient motor too.
Yamaha Motor recently announced that it has sold 67,267 units domestically. It has registered a growth of 13 percent year-on-year. This is up from 59,325 units sold in the the corresponding month last year. Yamaha is also confident about the upcoming festive season and wants to make the most of it with its existing models. It has refreshed some of its line up and has also launched its scooter Fascino. This has created quite a buzz in the marketplace.

Japanese bike maker also inaugurated its third manufacturing facility in Chennai last month. This has an annual capacity of 450,000 units annually. The company plans to invest a total of INR 1,500 crores in phases till 2018 when the new plant is expected to have a capacity of 1.8 million units. Yamaha is also looking at increasing its presence in the scooter segment in which it currently has more than 5 percent market share.
