Royal Enfield Bobber – Concept KX debuts at the 2018 EICMA show

Royal Enfield Bobber KX Concept

Royal Enfield debuted the biggest and most powerful bike they have ever made at the 2018 EICMA show. The bike is a concept which will be used as a platform for future bikes made by the manufacturer. The bike with its looks and stance pays homage to an old bike which way the most powerful bike ever to be made by RE. The Concept KX shows how RE will shape its products for the future. The bike is a clear signal that Royal Enfield is ready to take on the bigger bikes sold in India by Harley Davidson, Triumph and Indian.

Royal Enfield Bobber KX Concept Engine

Royal Enfield Bobber KX Concept

The KX concept is the canvas on which the Royal Enfield Bobber will be built. The concept pays homage to the 1140V Twin bike Royal Enfield had. The concept takes clues and inspiration from the past and blends it well with modern parts and design. The video below will show you the bike from various angles and its hidden details.

Royal Enfield Bobber Video

Royal Enfield Bobber Launch

The bike is not a production ready model. So we won’t ever see it on the roads. The bike will heavily influence design, paint work, specs and other stuff from the future. The bike is a concept vehicle and will not be launched. A Royal Enfield Bobber will eventually come and will retain a lot design language we saw on the bike showed at 2018 EICMA.

Royal Enfield Bobber Design

The Royal Enfield Bobber is a low slung bike. This shouts bobber in every way. The bike is seen here with a large single seat, a large tank which is a break from the teardrop design normally seen on RE bikes. The daytime running LEDs look great with the projector headlamps. It also receives a twin exhaust muffler, twin disc brakes on the front wheel, flat handlebar and a long wheelbase. Suspension includes a telescopic front fork and a monoshock at the rear. Dual channel ABS is standard. The large twin cylinder engine is part of the bikes appeal and looks very cool.

Royal Enfield Bobber KX Concept Rear

Royal Enfield Bobber Engine

The engine for the bike is an 834cc, liquid cooled, fuel injected, V Twin engine developed with help from Polaris Industries (Indian Motorcycles). The engine is capable of 90bnp power and around 100Nm torque.

Royal Enfield Bobber KX Concept Side

Royal Enfield Bobber Competition

It is not a production ready bike. But the KX concept shows us with the Royal Enfield Bobber how Royal Enfield is ready to take on the likes of Harley Davidson, Triumph and Indian.

Kia Motors had revealed the KIA SP Concept SUV at the Auto Expo in 2018. The production version of the Kia SP India will be the first car the South Korean car maker in the country. For those not aware of the SP concept, it will be a SUV. This will be a great move by Kia to start off in India. SUVs in India are the next big thing with every manufacturer diversifying their portfolio to accommodate more SUVs. The upcoming MG Motors will also be debuting with a India special MG SUV to this effect.

The latest according to one leading publications post is that the car will be priced between Rs 10 lakhs to Rs 16 lakhs, Ex-showroom India. This will make the car a highly competitive among its rivals. The car will also be feature packed and will be a great car to consider above the Hyundai Creta and the

Kia SP India Launch

There is no word on the launch of the SP Concept. It;s right now too early to say anything. The  Kia SP India is going to be possibly, launched very soon next year or during the festive season. There is a possibility we might see a announcement or a pre-production mule in early 2019.

CarLaunch Date
KIA SPNovember, 2019

KIA SP India Name

There are many rumors surrounding the name of the car! It will not be called the SP Concept for sure. The name of the car could be Tusker. Many other automotive websites are calling the car this name. We think KIA will have focus groups and research conducted for the most suitable name for this car. It will be a name that is going to attract audiences globally.

Kia SP India Price

Internationally Kia has the reputation of being the alternative to Hyundai cars and in some cases, the cheaper alternative. In India, we don’t know how they will handle the market with Hyundai. We do know that they will be competitive. We had predicted that the Kia SP India will not be more expensive than Hyundai Creta. It should be within the 15 lakh price range. No we have reports saying that the car will be around Rs 10 lakhs to Rs 16 lakhs.

Kia SP Concept variantsPrice
Base variantRs 10 lakhs – Rs 12 lakhs
Mid variantRs 12 lakhs to Rs 14 lakhs
Top variantRs 14 lakhs to Rs 15 lakhs

Kia SP Concept SUV 2

Kia SP India Design

The Kia SP Concept has all the hallmarks of the latest Kia design language. Dominating the face is the ‘Tiger Nose’ grille which part of Kia’s design language. There are sleek headlamps and silver colored bash plate element. On to the side we see the rear sloping roof line, white colored roof and massive wheels with the multi-spoke alloy wheel design. The appearance is enhanced by the grey cladding that runs all around the base of the Kia SP India as well as over the heavily flared wheel arches. At the rear, it is a mix of elements thanks to the chrome exhaust setup as well as chrome line that runs across the top section of the body. The chrome also goes through the tail light assembly.

Kia SP India Interior

There is no word on the interiors of the Kia SP India. We expect the production guise to get the standard Kia fare that is present on its SUVs, sedans as well as hatchbacks. Given its positioning, we believe that all the D-segment features like a touch screen system, climate control and faux leather upholstery will be a part of the feature package. Since it will go up against the Hyundai Creta, features like sunroof, cruise control, automatic headlamps, engine start stop, automatic climate control and wireless charging for the phone are expected. The infotainment system should get Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There should also be a a  set of fast charging USB ports. The car will also get a lot of storage space, a cooled glovebox and a large center console. The theme of the interior will be black and beige like other KIA cars we have seen in international markets. The 2nd row of this car will also get a lot of utility in the form of rear AC vents, charging sockets, a armrest and cup holders. The bootspace will be ample with a low loading lip.

Kia SP India Spy Shots

This is a picture we have got recently of the KIA SP Concept in its production version; being tested out on the roads and it does bear resemblance to it’s concept version. The Tiger grille, the large air vent on the bumper and the tapering off headlights do give it an aggressive look. The KIA SP India in some ways does reflect the design language of the Tata Harrier with it’s high mounted DRLs and raised fog lights.

KIA SP India Render

A new rendering of the Kia SP India SUV is also here. Done by Koo Ki Sung studio. This render will be the production version of the Kia SP Concept that made its global debut at the Auto Expo 2018. Here is how it is visualised. The production version of the Kia SP here, looks like a slightly toned-down version of the futuristic looking Kia SP India. The render shows off many of the design elements, including sleek LED headlamps, a wide grille and the auxiliary lamps. The render shows the blacked-out A-pillars and the front bumper is close to the one on the concept model. The design of the Kia Tusker you below in the render is as Kia said, ‘will be very close” to its concept’.

By the looks of it, the SUV should rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta and the Renault Captur. The SP Concept features sharp design elements such as LED headlamp eyebrows, LED tail lights and dynamic turn indicators on the ORVMs. Kia’s signature Tiger Nose grille gets a revised look for India as well. Kia says that the concept features a production-ready design and the one coming to Kia showrooms across the country will look a lot like it. Engine options have not been confirmed, though a 1.0-litre, turbocharged petrol and a 1.6-litre, turbocharged diesel are expected to find their place under the bonnet. Expect the production version of the SUV to be priced withen Rs 10-15 lakh.

We shall update you more on the interior of this car when we know more.

Kia SP India Features

The Kia SP India should get the following feature for sure –

Rain Sensing Wipers

Automatic Headlamps

Cooled Glove-box

Ventilated Seats

Electrically adjustable mirrors

Alloy wheels

Projector headlamps and LED tail lights

Leather Upholstery

Cruise Control

Android Auto/AppleCarplay

Kia SP India Specifications

Nothing on this is out yet. We can say though that there will be the option of one-litre and 1.6-litre engine. The car could have both petrol and diesel engines on option. Both manual and a CVT automatic transmission could be considered for India. AWD is not expected to be offered on the SP as it is not in high demand in India – the Renault Duster is the only SUV in the segment to offer it and it’s not setting the sales charts on fire. There are many details about this car that are yet to come out. Leike the Nexon, we could see different driving modes. We could see the Kia SP also get aids like traction control, ESP and cruise control.

Kia SP India Competition

The Kia SP will compete with its parent companies car, the Hyundai Creta. The car is expected to also in the future deal with the upcoming Tata Harrier. The Kia SP will have its work cut out for itself when it comes next year. There will be a lot of pressure on this car as it will be their first product in the market. The Tata Harrier and the Renault Kicks will be launched before this car and their will a certain advantage in doing so.

New Suzuki GSX-R150 coming to India next year?

There were a lot of new cars and bikes and cars that were launched in the 2018 Indonesian GIIAS. Among all of these was the New Suzuki GSX-R150. This bike was launched to celebrate the anniversary of the bike and was dressed up in white and blue livery. This bike seen below is the Classic Racing Edition.

New Suzuki GSX-R150 Launch in India

The bike was shown at the 2018 Auto Expo and had left us wanting for more. The launch of this pure unaltered budget sports bike not something planned in India. The bike we get here in the place of the GSX-R150 is the Gixxer SF. The full fairing bike offered from Suzuki here is good but the sporty stance that the New Suzuki GSX-R150 offers is something one would like to use and challenge R15’s of our country. The launch of this bike will happen next year if Suzuki thinks that it really wants to take a piece of the pie hogged by the R15 V3 right now.

New Suzuki GSX-R1502019

New Suzuki GSX-R150 Price

The New Suzuki GSX-R150 according to us will come in for a price of Rs 1.30 lakhs if it comes to India. This will be the Ex-showroom price of course. With this type of aggressive price tag and the performance to back it up, the bike will cut clean into the Yamaha R15’s market. This will give buyers a very difficult yet fun choice of machines to choose from.

New Suzuki GSX-R150Rs 1.30 (Ex-Showroom)

New Suzuki GSX-R150 Specifications

The bike will get a 150cc Fuel Injected motor that puts out 19bhp and 14Nm of torque. The bike will gets disc brakes on the front and rear. The bike will come with ABS as standard. The bike will also get a shift indicator and an aggressive stance like the R15. The convenient easy start system automatically starts the engine with one touch of a button mounted on the handlebar; there is no need to hold the button down until the engine fires.

Suzuki GSK-R150 rear

The Suzuki GSX-R150 has a full LCD instrument panel set in a modern dashboard, framed by turn signal, neutral, hi-beam, coolant temperature, malfunction indicator lamp (MIL), and programmable engine-RPM indicator lights. The bright LCD panel includes a segmented-bar tachometer across the top; a digital speedometer; a gear position indicator; a digital clock; a digital odometer with dual trip meters; an average fuel consumption meter; a fuel gauge; and an oil change timing indicator.

New Suzuki GSX-R150 Design

The bike will be more aggressive than the Gixxer SF. It will have an aggressive sitting position and will come with telescopic front forks and a mono shock at the rear. The bike will also get a full fairing. The exhaust on this thing will be high mounted as well. Compiling with norms, the bike will get AHO and the tail lamps will be LEDs. Reflecting its GSX-R heritage, the GSX-R150 features vertically stacked LED headlights, with the low beam above the high beam, and position lights on each side of the headlight. The brightness and compactness of the LED lights greatly contribute to the sharp and sporty looks of GSX-R150. The tires adopted for GSX-R150 are co-developed with the respected IRC TIRE. The 17 inch tires achieve both straight running stability and cornering performance. Especially, the rear tire which the size is 130/70-17M/C realizes superior drivability.

New Suzuki GSX-R150 Competition

This full faired Suzuki will do direct battle with the fearsome R15 V3. The bike will be a great option for customers to choose from in the future.

Tata H7X – How big will it be? Will it get 4WD?

Tata Harrier Front Row

The Tata Harrier is going to be coming soon. The car will be available by early January, next year. The car will be entering the market to take on the Hyundai Creta who has been leading the segment undisputed. This will be interesting. Now Tata wants to more actively target the seven seater segment that is being dominated by big SUVs like the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour. To  compete in the same class as these cars, the H7X  has to be bigger, powerful, better features and most importantly it should get 4WD. The Hexa has made sure Tata knows how to make a decent, luxurious car with 7 seats. With the Tata H7X, they want to redefine the market once more. The H7X will be the most luxurious car in the segment. With technology from all Tata subsidiaries, the car will have the best of the best. But will it bear the name Harrier or will Tata revive an old marquee? Scroll down to find out.

Tata H7X Launch Date

The H7X is already under development and will be brought to the market quickly. Tata has been introducing products in succession since last year nonstop. They will want to continue this streak that keeps the brands image fresh and new. The H7X will be launched in 2020 and will be unveiled by the end of 2019. The car is currently undergoing testing and you can check out some spy shots of the car below.

Tata H7X Price in India

The price of the upcoming Tata H7X will be somewhere between Rs 16 lakhs to Rs 25 lakhs. It will be a little bit more on the premium side of the segment. The car will be more engaging and have a more appealing design too. The price will make it one of the most expensive Tata cars ever to be sold to the public. But not the most expensive car in India. The H7X will still be cheaper than the Mahindra Alturas G4. The cars price will be kept down because of it’s localization. The Alturas is a CKD and the H7X will be heavily localised.

Tata H7X Interiors

This is way too early to comment but ewe suspect that the H7X will get a lot of styling and inspiration from its younger siblings, the Tata Harrier and the upcoming 45X hatchback. The car will have features like a 360 degree camera, park assist, different driving modes and different mood light settings. The infotainment system will be the best one Tata has put inside a car and will feature mind blowing speakers. We expect Android Auto and Apple CarPlay to be standard. The car will get leather upholstery and electrically adjustable seats. We can expect soft touch material all around the dashboard and the door handles. There will be a good amount of smart storage spaces too.

Tata harrier full dash

Tata H7X Design

It will be a butch yet elegant SUV. We don’t think too much of the Impact 2.0 design philosophy will carry on this car. The car will have a lot of cool and new design elements that we will see for the first time in a Tata product. These design elements and features will be worthy of a flagship model. The cars new design will then be watered down and applied to models below it in the current and upcoming line-up. This kind of attention to looks and design will make the car stand apart.

Tata H7X Featuers

The car will see more features come as standard in this car. This will be due to the fact that the H7X will get lesser variants, actually in keeping with the segment, it might only get 2 variants. The car will get a sunroof, 4WD, Electrically adjustable seats, 360 degree camera, electrically adjustable seats and a more informative display and instrument console. The car will be competing with the Mahindra Alturas and will have to be packing way more intelligent storage options and specs to take on the segment.

Tata H7X Specifications and Engine

The car will be made on the Omega platform which is the current base for all upcoming Tata SUVs. The car use the Fiat sourced four cylinder diesel engine with a six speed automatic and manual transmission. Tata calls the unit Kytotec. It will be a new engine in the companies diesel line up. The engine is shared with the Jeep Compass too. This engine will make more than 170bhp when introduced. This could be done to make it more powerful than the Mahindra Alturas G4. It is also too early to comment on the cars petrol engine. The car might also get the excellent terrain-response system from Land Rover. The car is going to also get bigger and chunkier tires than the Harrier five seater. The car will be built using the land Rover D8 architecture and the latest OMEGA platform from Tata. Contrary to what many think, the wheelbase of this new car will be bigger and the overhands for this car will be different.

This car like the Hexa, could come in multiple variants. There will definitely be a base variant which will not have features like a big infotainment screen or 4WD. Tata will make sure there are features that will attract buyers from the Toyota Fortuner too.

tata Harrier Platform 2

Tata H7X Competition

The H7X will be made using the latest platform with the best parts available from Tata. The car will compete directly with the Toyota Fortuner, Mahindra Alturas G4 and the Ford Endeavour. It is also important to understand that this will be the most premium offering from Tata. The whole car will be localized and made in a great fashion. The car will also lure some of the buyers of Mahindra XUV500 and Tata’s own, Hexa. Buyers of the Innova Crysta will also look at making the Tata their next car.

Mahindra to sell Fords in showrooms across India

Ford-Mahindra alliance

The two most loved SUV manufactures a have come together in a strategic alliance to make new cars, platforms and help develop watch others EV business in India. But now according to one publication and their sources, Mahindra is opening showrooms for Ford cars, especially in regions where the American automaker does not operate a dealership or the existing dealer has not been able to produce sufficient sales, said two people aware of the development. Mahindra dealers are also opening separate service centers for Ford cars at their dealerships. “Ford doesn’t have a robust chain of channel partners, so by letting Mahindra dealers sell Ford cars, the company is trying to reach most of the towns and districts of the country,” said the first of the two people cited above. “Mahindra dealers are also making quick money from setting up small showrooms and selling Ford’s most popular vehicle, Ford EcoSport” they said. This is a pilot program and a Ford spokesperson, requesting anonymity, said “The pilot has been rolled out to 15 towns, and the results are encouraging, giving incremental sales and service reach for Ford.” Spokespersons from Mahindra refused to comment on the development. Ford India’s managing director, Anurag Mehrotra, has already met a group of Mahindra dealers a few months ago to discuss the opportunities ahead and the expectations of the company.

Ford and Mahindra signed an initial pact in March to develop a new sports utility vehicle on a Mahindra platform and a small electric vehicle. Subsequently in October, Mahindra and Ford announced the signing of two definitive pacts to share Bharat Stage VI-compliant engines, besides jointly developing connected vehicle solutions for the Indian market. Mahindra is also developing BS VI-compliant petrol engines which will be used by Ford India. We could also see the new generation XUV500 come in as mid size Ford SUV. The expanded alliance would see existing Mahindra dealers sell some of the future products of Ford—that will be jointly developed by the two companies—from their new Ford showrooms.

Ford and Mahindra joining synergies will be a force to reckon with. Especially to take on the might of Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai. SUV manufactures like Tata will also be closely looking at this move by Ford. The portfolio of both companies will this way expand, diversify and cover almost every segment within the market. Ford will definitely increase their annual profits and Mahindra too will benefit from the technology transfer.

What do you think of the alliance between Ford and Mahindra? Do you think a deal between two SUV makers will produce great products? Let us know in the comments below.

Maruti Vitara Brezza Petrol: Launching by late 2019

Vitara Brezza in motion

The Maruti Vitara Brezza is the highest selling compact SUV in India. It was the company’s strategy to introduce the Vitara Brezza in diesel only. Though being available only with one engine option, it is still the best seller. Its competitors come in both Petrol and Diesel versions. Maruti has recently introduced the AMT version of the Vitara Brezza. This was done right after the launch of Tata Nexon AMT. Also, though petrol prices are going up, this car is going to receive the 1.5-litre petrol engine of the Ciaz. The Brezza sells high numbers and the introduction of a petrol version will be beneficial. The petrol variant will lower the price of the Brezza. It will bring down the ex-showroom price under ₹7 lakhs. Thus it can compete in a stronger way.

This is going to be a win-win situation for Maruti. A petrol Vitara Brezza would most likely become the cheapest SUV. The petrol version can be a good option for those who mainly drive in the city. The petrol engine Marutis have always been a strong point in all of the manufactures cars, especially the hatchbacks. The Brezza petrol will be more affordable.

The Maruti Vitara Brezza petrol engine will be coming with a manual transmission and also an AMT. What kind of power will this engine offer, and what shall be its mileage? Read further to find out about more Maruti Vitara Brezza Petrol

MG India SUV – Early launch in 2019

MG SUV India Baojun 530 side

Many of us neither heard or spoken ever, about the MG marquee. It has never come to India and only those in automotive circles know, MG Rover. MG was brought in it’s time of need by the Chinese company, SAIC. The company is known for making products on the GM and Volkswagen platforms it has got licenses for. Rover was Land Rover which was brought by Ford before being sold to Tata. Since then we haven’t hear much about MG until last year when the company decided to use the Halol plant in Gujarat as its base.

On our recent visit to China we got a chance to get reacquainted with MG Motors and get acquainted with the parent company SAIC. We learnt that the company’s first product which is going to launch in India in the second half of next year will be an SUV larger than the likes of Jeep Compass and Hyundai Tucson. However, we expect the pricing to be below this segment, making the MG SUV a market breaking product and something other manufactures will take notice of.

MG India SUV Launch

MG will launch this product in India next year, around April. The vehicle will be made in the MG’s Halol plant. As we have known the Bajoun SUV has been spotted testing in India many times now. This will the first product to be launched in India by MG. MG will be then launching a product every year in India.

MG India SUV Price

So the diesel motor that will be used in the MG India SUV will be the Fiat units used in the Jeep Compass. The size of the car will be close to that of the Hyundai Tuscon and the Honda CRV. These attributes paired with a strong pricing strategy will make the MG brand unstoppable. The car is looking to slot itself in the Rs 10 lakhs to Rs 16 lakhs price range. This price range will be a very strong and competitive price segment to get into.

MG India SUV Interior and Design

The interior first! This is where as seen above we have come across some spy shots of the front row of the cars being tested under camouflage. The car looks like it’s borrowing details like the air vents, instrument cluster, door handles and the handbrake lever from it’s SAIC cousins the MG Baojun 530 and the Roewe RX5. The car will get a sunroof, ambient lighting, a digital instrument console and features like lane assist, park assist and 6 airbags for safety. The front driver seat will be electrically adjustable too. It’s exterior styling will be very close to the Baojun 530 and will be have many design element s from other SAIC products.

MG India SUV Interior 1

The most interesting part of the above spy shots is the Roewe RX5’s big Tesla like touchscreen and it looks like the car will get a manual gearbox option in India.

The cars will come with 7 speed automatic and a manual version too.

Recently a bunch of MG SUV’s have been spotted along with a Hyundai Tucson. This shows that the Chinese automaker is bench marking its first Indian product against the premium Hyundai offering.
