Nissan has just launched the refreshed versions of their popular Micra hatchback and the Sunny sedan, in Thailand, for model-year 2016. Both cars have been upgraded with some key features, on the outside as well as in the cabin.

There have been no changes to the sheet metal and the motors remain the same under the hood too.

Nissan Sunny Refresh 2016

The daytime running lamps on the 2016 Micra refresh (nee March, as it is called there) are LED’s and come in distinctive diamond-styling.

There’s also a new rear-view camera, along with parking sensors to help things when in reverse gear.

On the inside, the cabin gets a mild upgrade, with the all-new steering mounted audio controls. The music system itself gets USB and AUX functionality, so there’s more than one way to enjoy your favourite tunes in the car now. The Sunny on the other hand (nee Almera there) gets all these and some chrome trim additions on the doors too.

All-in-all, the changes aren’t significant, but Nissan estimates that these should suffice in keeping the interest going in the models as work on the next-generation cars proceeds on schedule. We should see the refreshed models on our shores early next year, if not towards the end of the current one.
