Hero will be launching two new scooters – Duet and Maestro Edge on 29th September. We had earlier revealed that these scooters will be launched by the end of September and will be powered by a 110cc engine that will producing about 9bhp of power. They will also come with CVT (continuously variable transmission).

The Duet will come with several first-in-class features like USB charger, fuel-point on the outside, which makes it easier to fill up. The Duet will come in two variants LX and mostly VX.

The  Maestro Edge will pose as a direct competitor to the, the Activa 3G, which is the highest selling scooter in India. While, the Maestro was developed with Honda’s technology, the Maestro Edge will be an all-new scooter from the Indian two-wheeler manufacturer. This will get the same newly developed 110cc engine as well.

Hero will try to capitalize maximum during the festive season as the two new scooters will be introduced just before Dussera and Diwali. Though Hero has the highest market share in two-wheelers, in scooters Honda is the market leader by a big margin. Hero will price the Maestro Edge similar to the Activa, though a bit lesser. The Duet on the other hand is expected to be slightly more expensive than the Activa by around INR 3,000-4,000.
