Abarth Punto to be launched on 10th October
Abarth Punto is likely to be launched on the 10th of October. The Punto in its Abarth avatar will be powered by a 1.4-litre T-JET engine that will be producing about 145bhp of power and will come mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
Fiat is looking at introducing a range performance products, the first was the Abarth 595 and second in line is the Abarth Punto.
The Punto will have lower ground clearance, more upmarket interiors and of course a more powerful engine. The Abarth Punto will become the most powerful hatchback in its segment and it will be priced at INR 10 lakhs (on-road, approximate pricing).
Fiat has plans to even introduce the Abarth Avventura. The Abarth range of products will be a part of the Fiat showroom, however they will have a dedicated section.
Volkswagen is also looking at introducing the Polo GTi and this will be powered by a 1.
8-litre turbo petrol engine.
