One of the most popular cars among buyers globally has been the Honda Civic.

Just ahead of its official unveiling, images of the all-new Civic has emerged. The current Accord platform underpins this next-generation Honda Civic.

The new Honda Civic will be powered by a 1.5-litre VTEC engine mated to a six-speed manual gearbox and also an option CVT. The car gets ‘flying H’ design with angular designed, wrap-around headlamps featuring LEDs and a grille bearing a thick single chrome slat.

At the rear, the Civic gets redesigned tail-lamps that offer a complete new look. The Civic gets a roomier cabin, a touch-screen multimedia system and leather seats. Sources say that Honda may discontinue the Civic Hybrid and Civic NGV trims and in turn may add the Civic Type R model to its line-up.

The Civic was a popular car in India, however it was discontinued, owing to a sharp drop in sales. There was no diesel engine option compared to competition and people preferred to opt for the new-generation Honda City, instead. It is yet unknown whether Honda has any plans to bring the New Civic to India.
