We’ve brought you the scoops and the spy shots (both inside & out), along with all the tech-specs that you could ask for on Mahindra’s newest product – the TUV300. A sub-4 metre SUV, the TUV300 has been generating quite the buzz on the inter-web. These are introductory prices.

Mahindra has a winner on their hands with the TUV300. Benefiting by the thoroughly revised underpinnings of the new, Scorpio chassis (suitably shortened), the TUV300 is a class apart from all the SUV’s to have worn the Mahindra badge till date. The interiors have been thoroughly refreshed and everything, from the materials used to the design language is singing a new tune. The HVAC system is more than up to the job and should chill the interiors even in the harshest of summers. The headroom and legroom in the TUV300 is going to bring a smile to your face, particularly in the first two rows. The stowaway jump-seats out at the back do mean that seven people can be accommodated in the TUV300, but we’d really, only consider putting young children in there, and that too for a really brief drive about town. It is offered with 3 year/1 lakh km warranty.

Quality and feel of the cabin is a bit upmarket, though a few bits here and there are going to have you travelling back in time, like the central location of the power-windows like on the Scorpio of yore. The car steers and drives well too – though we’ll wait till we do a proper, road-test, to tell you more about this. What we can tell you is that the mHawk80 engine is more than adequate for its class. This engine is a 1.5-litre mHawk80 that produces 84bhp of power and has a peak torque of 230Nm. This also has a five-speed AMT (automated manual transmission) called as Auto Shift.
