Maruti Baleno production commences
Maruti has commenced the production of the Baleno in its Manesar and the first car has just rolled out. The Baleno was codenamed as YRA and there is even an image of the board that writes YRA 1st Vehicle. The Maruti Baleno will be a larger hatchback and will be more premium that the Swift. This will be a direct competition to the Hyundai Elite i20. 
The Baleno will come with a 1.0-litre BoosterJet engine with manual and automatic transmission. The other engine will be the 1.2-litre K-Series petrol and there will be either the new 1.5-litre diesel engine or the 1.3-litre SHVS diesel engine. Maruti has plans to launch the Baleno first in Europe and it will be introduced in the Indian car market sometime next year. The Baleno will priced between INR 7.5 lakhs to 10 lakhs (on-road) and will be sold through Maruti’s Nexa Experience dealerships.
The Baleno will get variants like V, V+, Z and Z+. It will get features like keyless entry, push start and stop, touchscreen infotainment system, reverse parking camera, dual airbags and ABS. The European model will also get seat warmers as well.
