2016 Opel/Vauxhall Astra ST spotted

We have got some images of the Opel Astra ST, which is due to be launched next year.

In the UK, it will be called as the Vauxhall. The new Astra hatchback has already made its official presence, but the ST (Sports Tourer) is yet to be launched.

The estate that was spotted has the important part camouflaged, the rear of the estate wagon. The new Opel Astra has a funky and stylish design, while the Astra ST (Sports Tourer) will have a more practical angle to it. Most of the front elegant styling has been retained. If we look at the rendering made by our friends at CarPix, we can see how the new estate looks.

The Opel/Vauxhall Astra ST’s wheelbase will remain the space, but it will be the boot that will be stretched to have about 500 litres of space, and about 1500 litres when the rear seats have been folded. The Opel Astra ST will be launched in Europe sometime next year.

The Opel Astra ST will get the same set of engines that are already powering the Astra hatchback.

The 1.4-litre Ecotec and the other engines will also be under 1.6-litre for both petrol and diesel.

The Astra will also debut with the new-generation of IntelliLink infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility.
