Fiat is reportedly working on a new generation of Fiat-Chrysler vehicles, which will see the light in the next two years. This includes modernizing iconic cars and reviving some historic car names.

Fiat-Chrysler chief, Sergio Marchionne has shared some plans with a few dealers in the US, that include the next-generation Dodge Charger and Dodge Barracuda convertible, both of which will be sharing a rear-wheel drive platform with the new Alfa Romeo Giulia . The new products will not only be intended to keep the sales numbers moving, but also address some shortfalls regarding fuel economy, according to Automotive News.

Also in the pipeline is an all-new Alfa Romeo SUV, new Maserati models and a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT Track Hawk, which will be powered by FCA’s 6.2-litre Hellcat V8 engine that is expected to do a 0-100 km/h in under 4 seconds. Marchionne has revealed to the dealers that there are 30 new as well as refreshed products coming to FCA showrooms in the next two years time. 2016 will see the launch of the Alfa Romeo Giulia as well as the iconic Fiat 124 Spider roadster, including an Abarth version and also the redesigned Chrysler Town & Country with a plug-in hybrid option, which will be first in a minivan.

This is good news for Fiat internationally and such revamps are sure to reflect in its India operations too. Now with an extended engineering team at the Ranjangaon plant, that is working on global products, expect some interesting things to happen in the near future.
