Audi A6 facelift launched on WhatsApp. Price INR 54.1 lakhs

Audi has launched the A6 facelift today, not in a press conference but on WhatsApp. The Ingolstadt based automaker’s A6 facelift is priced at INR 54.1 lakhs (on-road) approximately. The Audi A6 gets several new features of which one important one are the matrix LED headlamps. The A6 will be powered by 2.0-litre and 3.0-litre V6 diesel engines.

The A6 could get ventilated seats like the A8, but mostly as an optional feature. The A6 will retain the same two diesel engine options being 2.0-litre and 3.0-litre V6 producing 178bhp and 250bhp respectively. These will come mated to a seven or eight-speed transmissions. The Audi A6 was launched in 2011 and since then this is the first major upgrade to the mid-size luxury sedan.

Audi will be launching 10 products this year and A6 is one of the major launches in the sedan range. The Mercedes-Benz E-Class is the best seller in its segment and Audi will want to move ahead of the Stuttgart-based manufacturer as the new best seller in this range. Audi is the largest selling luxury car maker in India if we consider last year’s sales figures.
