A rendering of the interiors of the forthcoming pick-up truck from Fiat, the Toro, based on the Fiat Small Wide Platform, reveals an  upmarket design. While the basic architecture is shared with the Jeep Renegade, the interior trim will be different, as per autossegredos of Brazil.

The interior theme is borrowed from Fiat’s latest range of products like the steering wheel, dashboard and instrument cluster. Higher variants could feature Fiat’s 5 inch U-Connect infotainment system as standard as well as a large MID in the center of the instrument cluster.Unlike the Renegade, the plastic will not feature soft touch materials. The multi-function steering wheel, air-con controls, and audio are same as the Jeep Renegade.

Engine options are likely to include a 2.0L Multijet diesel or a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol paired to either a 6-speed manual as standard or a 9-speed automatic gearbox.  An optional AWD system may also be on offer. The Fiat Toro is expected to be launched in Brazil in 2016, and will compete against other pick ups like the Toyota Hilux, Ford Ranger and the Mitsubishi Triton. It will also be exported to other markets.
