An interesting rendering  of the future Fiat Punto has surfaced by Virtuel-Car, based on reports and quotes from company officials. The all-new Punto is expected to go into production by 2017.

It is believed that the Punto may not have any successor in its current format and the next generation Punto will be based on the 500, similar to a 500X, sans the height and claddings, for an urban look. While officially the exact look is still unknown, Virtuel-Car has rendered these images based on the comments by Fiat’s marketing chief that he would like the Punto to look like a five door 500.

The new Punto shall be powered by the MultiJet and MultiAir engines and will also come with AMT. Fiat’s global plan had been revealed by carsitaly and it shows a new Punto to be launched in APAC region by late 2017. It is now to be seen whether this would be the actual path adopted for the future Puntos.
