Royal Enfield Himalayan captured on Dash-Cam

The Royal Enfield Himalayan has been generating quite the buzz on the inter-web. From early renderings, to spy pictures of early test mules to this dash-cam video that’s surfaced recently (shot on the highways of Puzhal, Tamil Nadu), one thing is clear – this Royal Enfield is a stunner. The purists may have been shocked and left shaking their heads, but as is evident from the video, the RE Himalayan promises to be a capable mile-muncher. Pulling away cleanly at highway speeds indicate that this motorcycle sure has some poke in the mid-range; perfect for overtaking those pesky slow-movers without much fuss.

The front end features parts from the Continental GT, while the chassis is all new. The high-stance, that minimalist body-work, the provision for mounting solid/soft-storage and the indicated performance have surely whetted everyone’s appetite. It is only the exhaust that doesn’t seem to gel with the overall design, is what we feel.

Expected to launch towards the end of this year (or early next), the pricing and build-quality would play a key role in the RE Himalayan living up-to its name.
