All new Chevrolet Cruze likely to debut in 2017 in India

The All new Chevrolet Cruze was recently unveiled in Detroit, in June 2015 and will go on sale in 2016 . It will be showcased by General Motors in India at the Auto Expo 2016.

The Cruze is a very important car for GM as it is their best seller globally, however, it will possibly make an Indian debut only in 2017. While the new Cruze will be powered by a 1.4 Ecotec engine globally, a diesel variant is inevitable for the Indian market. It is therefore, for this reason that a delay in the Indian launch is possible, as per Autocar India and also the lead time required for localisation.

The styling of the new Cruze is very crisp and sporty and can easily be termed as one of the best looking sedans.. The sharply styled exterior, with creases, gives the Cruze a meaningful look. The front, with the creased bonnet and twin grille is  unique. The sharp headlights come with LED daytime-running lights . From the side too, it looks stunning, with the swooping roofline and a smart rear end. The interiors are classy and the car is loaded with equipment, expect the same to come to India too. The new Cruze is also will be around 100 kgs lighter than the outgoing version. The car is also expected to be loaded with safety features.

The Cruze, when launched in India, had taken the market by storm.  It was the most powerful car and one of the best sellers in its segment. However, lately the sales have been falling, also due to the beating that the entire segment has experienced, with the onslaught of SUVs and customers showing a preference for the same.  With the recent big steps taken by GM in India, by announcing an investment of USD 1 billion in their Talegaon plant, brand Chevrolet is about to get a boost that is desperately requires. Hopefully, GM will be able to do justice to this phenomenal car, to once again make it a best seller, when launched.
