Maruti Suzuki Dakshin Dare Rally 2015 Underway

Motorsports and Maruti Suzuki have had a long standing and rather fruitful relationship over the years. A bond forged amidst the highest mountain passes of the nation, a testimony of which being the Raid-de-Himalaya and the Desert Storm rallies which see the cream of the motorsport crowd making a beeline for them. Having cemented its place in the Northern part of the country, the motorsports boffins at Maruti Suzuki recognized the need to take the action to the other corner of the country.

And that my friends, is how the Maruti Suzuki Dakshin Dare Rally was born in 2009.

A grueling off-road racing event, it has only gone on to benefit from the backing of India’s leading car manufacturers. Setting a new record for the number of participants wanting to take part each year, the Maruti Suzuki Dakshin Dare Rally is the ultimate endurance test for both, man and machine, across grueling terrain.

 It is this challenging setup that has gone on to attract the best of participants who truly are the epitome of the rallying spirit in the country. This year too has been no different, with 120 distinguished participants throwing themselves into the ring with stalwarts such as Den Thimmaiah – Autocross 2015 Winner (participating in the Dakshin Dare for the first time); 9 times Raid-de-Himalaya Champion – Suresh Rana and others.
