Mahindra TUV300 is the name for the new Bolero

Mahindra TUV300 is the name for the compact SUV! This is another MotorOctane exclusive.

We were the first to reveal this and Mahindra has just announced the name.

Mahindra TUV300 is the production name for the U301. This is a compact SUV (under 4 metres in length) and will be powered by a 1.5-litre manual and AMT (automated manual transmission) option.

Mahindra TUV300 will be a seven-seater, with the third row of seats being jump seats. The TUV300 has space on the inside exactly the same like the Quanto (the kneeroom and even the same Quanto seatsa re used). The Mahindra TUV300 will be getting features like integrated music system with USB and aux connectivity, centrally-located power windows and electrically adjustable mirrors and a new-generation Mahindra steering wheel too.

We are the only website to even share the interior images of the TUV300. This SUV has been designed for the rural car market and will be priced between INR 6.5-10.5 lakhs (on-road) and will be the only one in its segment, as the other compact SUVs cater more of urban buyers, while the TUV300 is more for the rural market. The TUV300 and the Quanto will be competing with the Ford Ecosport. The Quanto will be a bit more premium than the U301. The U301 will be made available in three variants, SLE, SLX and ZLX. There will even be ABS and airbags on offer, on the top-of-the-line variant.

The TUV300 will be launched in mid-September and it will be manufactured in Mahindra’s Chakan plant. The other compact SUV (S101) will also be manufactured in Mahindra’s Chakan plant itself.

The official launch colour of the Mahindra TUV300 is most likely to be orange. The TUV300 will have a rear-mounted wheel on the tailgate to give a tugged stance. There are side air vents too on the Mahindra TUV300. It will be powered by the 1.5-litre engine, but this will be called as mHawk80, which could indicate 80PS of power that it will produce instead of the 100bhp on the Quanto.
