Bajaj to launch Avenger 200 in Q3 2015

Rajiv Bajaj has just made an announcement that the new Avenger 200 will be launched this year in Q3. The Indian bike manufacturer has been focusing on performance bikes and even increasing its emphasis on exports to new markets. Bajaj Avenger is currently available with a 220cc engine that also powers the Pulsar 220.

This engine and the 200cc might sold together, with the 200 being more expensive. Avenger is the only cruiser bike in Bajaj’s current portfolio. There will also be a 400cc cruiser bike from Bajaj as it is almost already with its new 400cc engine for the Pulsar range.

Bajaj will be launching the Avenger in Q3 and this will be priced about INR 5,000-7,000 more than the existing Avenger.

Bajaj will be introducing the Avenger with fuel injection and the new bigger bike will be competing against the Royal Enfields. Bajaj won’t be introducing a scooter anytime soon, but will be getting the Pulsar CS400, which will be a cruiser sports bike.

KTM has been working on getting new 250cc Adventure bike to India. This is likely to be the first adventure bike in the affordable segment in India.

Bajaj too will be introducing more adventure bikes in India after the AS150 and the AS200. It has been utilising KTM technology to enhance its products and this has resulted in even better quality of the existing products.
