New Toyota Fortuner to come in 7 colours
The next-generation Toyota Fortuner’s design has been leaked just a while before the new SUV makes its global debut. Recently, the images of the new Fortuner had leaked and now its other details are revealed too. The new Fortuner will have two engines, 2.4-litre with 4×2 option (six-speed manual and six-speed automatic), while the 2.8-litre will have a six-speed automatic with 4×2 and 4×4 options and the six-speed manual on the bigger engine will be 4×4.
The new Fortuner will have paddle shifts, touchscreen system, keyless entry, push start and stop, power back door, reverse parking camera and several other features. The Fortuner will be launched sometime next year in India and this will be replacing the currently sold Fortuner. Toyota is planning to increase the localisation of the Fortuner in India for the new-generation to justify the increase in price.
The 2.4-litre engine will produce 148bhp of power and the 2.8-litre engine will get 175bhp of power. Toyota isn’t just looking at selling the Fortuner in Asia and Gulf countries, but also in other western markets too. The Fortuner will be competing with the Ssangyong Rexton, Hyundai Santa Fe, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, Ford Endeavour and the upcoming Chevrolet Trailblazer. The Toyota Fortuner will be priced at INR 27-32 lakhs (on-road).
