If the mighty M3 and M4 were not enough for the high-adrenaline junkies, then BMW’s high-performance division M is coming with yet another product. The model in question here is the BMW M2 coupe, which has been caught in video during its test runs at the Nürburgring circuit. Being codenamed as F87, the M2 coupe – according to the company – would be unveiled soon.

Talking about the engine specs of BMW M2 coupe, it would be powered by a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with maximum power output of 367bhp and peak torque of 465Nm. However, the high-performance coupe can be overboosted for a short span of time, which would further take the torque to 500Nm. The transmission options are not confirmed yet, but it being learnt that it could be offered with a six-speed manual and seven-speed DCT unit. The performance details are also kept under wraps at this time, but going by the rear-wheel drive M235i with DCT, it is expected to touch 100 km/hr mark from standstill in just under 5 seconds of time. The top speed is expected to be electronically limited to 250 km/hr, but can be further exceeded to 274 km/hr by opting for M driver package.

The German luxury automaker, reportedly, would launch the M2 coupe in four paint schemes: Mineral Grey metallic, Long Beach Blue metallic, Black Sapphire metallic and Alpine White. It is being said that production of M2 would commence in November 2015 and the coupe could go on sale officially by the end of 2015 or by early 2016. As for pricing, the M235i with manual gearbox and rear-wheel-drive comes at a price of around INR 50 lakhs (on-road); so one can expect the pricing of M2 somewhere in range of 60-65 lakhs (on-road). As fas as India launch is concerned, it might be launched in the country in the second half of 2016 with pricing in excess of INR 1 crores like its other M siblings – M3, M4, X5M and X6M.
