Honda Jazz prices start at INR 5.9 lakhs (on-road, Delhi)

Honda has launched the new-generation Jazz today with the prices starting at INR 5.

75 lakhs and 8.65 lakhs. The diesels cost between INR 7.1 lakhs to 9.5 lakhs (on-road, Delhi). The Jazz will be offered in five variants in petrol and diesel of which two will be for automatic.The Jazz is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces 88bhp of power and comes mated with a five-speed manual or CVT (continuously variable transmission). The diesel is powered by a 1.5-litre engine that produces 98bhp of power and 200Nm of torque. This comes only with a six-speed manual transmission.

The Jazz is a direct competition to the Hyundai Elite i20.

Read our comparison on the duo here. The Jazz diesel returns a fuel economy of 27.3 km/l as per the ARAI cycle, while the petrol has an efficiency of 18.7km/l for manual and 19km/l for automatic. The Jazz will be made available in seven exterior colours, while on the inside the base and mid-level models will get black and beige combination and the higher variants will have an all-black fabric. Then there are also the new “Magic Seats” that will be coming on the higher variants itself. This time around Honda has aggressively priced the Jazz and the localisation is up to 95%, compared to the previous Jazz which was at about 73%.

This has helped the Japanese car maker to reduce the pricing.
