Abarth 595 launch in India

Yesterday we had reported that Abarth Punto will be showcased on the 4th of August, and that same day Fiat will even be launching the Abarth 595 as well. The launch will happen in the national capital and the 595 Competizone will be first Abarth for Indian car market.

The Abarth 595 will be a CBU and the others that will follow will be the Abarth Punto and the Abarth Avventura. All the three will be powered by a 1.4-litre T-JET engine (turbo petrol) with the Avventura and Punto producing 133bhp of power and 595 about 150bhp. The pricing of the Abarth Punto will be about INR 9 lakhs and the Avventura should cost INR 10 lakhs (on-road price).

The Abarth 595 will be priced at INR 25 lakhs (on-road) and will be competing with the Mini Cooper S. Fiat hasn’t announced any plans to launch the Fiat 500 once again as the 595 is a CBU.

The other two Abarth models will be driving the sales while the 595 will be more for branding person.

The Abarths will be first hot hatchbacks that will be even affordable. The Punto and Avventura will come mated to a five-speed manual transmission.

The Linea already has the 1.4-litre T-JET engine, so Fiat doesn’t need to have an extra investment for this engine. The Abarth Punto and Avventura’s suspension will be lowered a bit and even the wheels and tyres are larger.
