Hyundai Creta is creating headlines almost every single day – be it some spy-shots surfacing, be it it’s variant details being out or be it tentative pricing doing the rounds. Now, we have learnt that Creta compact SUV would be launched in total of 5 trims – L (base), S (mid), SX, SX+ and SX(O). The petrol variants would come in L (base), S (mid) and SX+ grades, while the 1.4-litre diesel will be available in L, S and SX+ guises, followed by the 1.6-litre diesel’s SX, SX+ and SX(O) time levels.

Talking about the features of Hyundai Creta L (base), it would flaunt dual tone body coloured bumpers, black radiator grille, front and rear skid plates, a micro roof antenna, blackened A and B pillars, body coloured rear garnish, wheel covers, black body mouldings, body-coloured door handles and ORVMs, and 16-inch steel wheels. Inside the cabin, features like front and rear map pockets, a 2-Din audio system with USB, Aux-in and i-Pod connectivity with 4 speakers, rear air-conditioner vents and centre armrest, tilt steering, central locking, electric tailgate release, keyless entry, folding key, power windows, day-night IRVM, lane change indicator, battery saver, shift indicators, adjustable front headrests, tachometer, trip meter, and front power outlets would be standard across the entire Creta line-up.

Moving to the Hyundai Creta S (mid) variant, besides having all the features of L (base) trim, it would have front fog lamps, rear defogger, roof rack, silver skid plates, map lamp and sunglass holder, rear parcel tray, luggage lamp, rear centre armrest with cup holders, metallic finish inside door handles, height-adjustable driver’s seat, 5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity and two tweeters, steering-mounted audio and Bluetooth controls, electrically adjustable ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, rear power outlet, adjustable rear headrests as standard. Seems to be quite a value-for-money sort of stuff from Hyundai India.

Just so you know, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) would be the standard safety feature across the entire range of Hyundai Creta. As for S+ variant, it would come loaded with dual airbags, impact-sensing auto door unlock, audio video navigation (AVN), shark fin antenna, 16-inch alloy wheels, spare steel wheel and a rear parking camera with sensors, apart from all the features of S trim. As far as features of Hyundai Creta SX is concerned, it would boast premium features such as electric folding ORVMs, auto up & down driver’s window, climate control with cluster ionizer and colour change system and a rear wiper and washer. The SX grade of Creta would also introduce the projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights.

The range-topping SX+ variant of Creta would have all the features of SX trim. In addition, it would also have AVN, shark fin antenna, starter button and chrome door handles. The only automatic variant in Creta line-up would be presented in this trim level with a leather-wrapped gear knob, child seat anchor and a 60:40 split rear seat. The company is also said to be offering a special variant SX(O), which would feature 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, side and curtain airbags, electronic stability control, vehicle stability management, hill assist control, height adjustable seat belts, and speed-sensing auto door locks as standard.

As said before, Hyundai Creta would be available with two diesel and one petrol engine. All the engines are sourced from the Verna mid-sized sedan and retuned for optimum performance. The 1.6-litre, four-cylinder dual VTVT petrol engine would offer 121bhp of maximum power, while the 1.4-litre, four-cylinder, CRDi diesel would churn out 89bhp, followed by the range-topping 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder, CRDi VGT diesel motor which would make 126bhp of highest power. Hyundai Creta would be officially launched on 21st July 2015 and it would lock horns with Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano, and Maruti S-Cross.
