Jaguar XE diesel has almost completed the homologation test and the XE petrol has arrived for homologation testing at ARAI. The British marquee is likely to launch the XE by the end of this year or early 2016 as per our sources. The next-generation XF and the facelift XJ will be coming next year, and so there is a high possibility to see the launch of the XE this year itself.

Jaguar will be launching the XE with 2.

0-litre turbo petrol and a new 2.

0-litre Ingenium diesel engine. The XE is based on an all-new aluminium platform that is lighter, enhancing performance and the fuel efficiency.

The Ingenium engines are the new generation Jaguar Land Rover engines, which are replacing the existing 2.2-litre Ford engines. The XE will be manufactured in India and will be competing with the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, BMW 3 Series and the Audi A4.

The XE will be assembled at the company’s Pimpri plant along with the Evoque, XF and XJ. The Discovery sport that will be launched this year around August will also be manufactured here. Jaguar had recently launched the XF Aerosport, which is new variant added to the fleet.

The other launches for this year by JLR include the Range Rover SVAutobiography and the Range Rover Sport SVR.

This year, JLR India moved its reporting headquarters to JLR UK from Tata Motors India. Even the company’s Worli dealership will be taken over by another JLR franchisee. Earlier, the company was in talks with Navneet, who has a JLR showroom in BKC (Bandra Kurla Complex). However, it seems that the deal didn’t come through.
