2015 Ford Endeavour clear images

Ford India would launch four new models in the country this year, including the all-new Endeavour SUV. The SUV has been spied mutiple times in India, albeit with camouflage, but now we bring you the undisguised images of the India-bound 2015 Ford Endeavour. The new-generation Everest aka Endeavour was spotted in China in production-ready avatar and it would launch in India by the end of 2015.

Based on a ladder-frame chassis, the India-spec Ford Endeavour facelift is expected to boast several top-notch features like projector headlights, a powered tailgate, Ford SYNC2 infotainment system with voice commands, an eight-inch touchscreen display with a nine-speaker audio system and a sub-woofer, powered third row seats, and the new Terrain Management System. It would be locally manufactured at Ford India’s Chennai plant from the CKD kits supplied from Thailand. It would be up against the likes of Toyota Fortuner, SsangYong Rexton, Hyundai Santa Fe and Isuzu MU-7 in the country.

As for mechanicals, 2015 Ford Endeavour is expected to come with two diesel engines. The base variants would be powered by a 2.

2-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine, while a bigger and more powerful 3.2-litre, five-cylinder in-line diesel engine would be at helm for the mid-level and top-end variants. It would be offered with both the six-speed manual as well as automatic transmissions in 2WD and 4WD trims. Just so you know, Ford has increased the ground clearance of the Endeavour SUV from 210mm to 225mm to make it a more capable off-roader.

Also, the new iteration of the Endeavour SUV is wider than the ongoing model, but shorter in length. Prices are expected to start from INR 22-28 lakhs (on-road), when the SUV is launched in the country.
