We recently reported you that Honda CBR 650F was spotted at a company dealership in Indore undisguised and now, the Honda dealers nationwide have started taking bookings for the motorcycle. Honda CBR 650F can be pre-ordered at a token amount of INR 50,000 and it is expected to flaunt a price tag of INR 9 lakhs (on-road). Just so you know, the CBR 650F was firstly showcased at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo in February and it is expected to be launched shortly in the country.

Yadvinder S Guleria, Senior Vice President – Sales and Marketing, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India, confirmed the launch of Honda CBR 650F to us in 2015 in the country. Coming to the bike, it comes with a fully faired steel frame. As for front suspension, it has a telescopic fork, while at the rear suspension – there is a monoshock. The bike would have 320 mm hydraulic disc brakes at the front and a 240 mm disc brake at the rear. It would ride on 17-inch alloy wheels with front tyre size of 120/70 and rear tyre size of 180/55.

Honda CBR 650F would be sold via Shop-In-Shop distribution format across 20 priority cities in India, while being locally assembled at company’s manufacturing unit in Manesar, Haryana. The dealers are taking bookings though it hasn’t been started officially. The CBR 650F will be available in selected Honda dealerships only.

Mechanically, Honda CBR 650F would be powered by a 649cc, inline four-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected petrol engine which would develop a massive power of 86bhp at 11,000rpm and peak torque of 63Nm at 8,000rpm. It would be mated to a six-speed transmission. The CBR 650F, upon its launch, would rival the Kawasaki Ninja 650 and the Benelli TNT600 GT in the Indian market.

For your information, the Honda CBR 650F weighs 290 kgs. and is expected to be launched in all three colours, i.e., Red, Candy Blue, Matte Black Metallic.
