Maruti S-Cross’s launch is pretty near as the company has launched a separate microsite of the crossover. It was earlier said that Maruti would launch the S-Cross premium crossover by the end of July 2015. The potential buyers can visit the website for getting updates on the S-Cross and get regsitered by filling the form. For those asking, bookings for Maruti S-Cross have already started at INR 25,000 all across the nation.

The India-spec model of the Maruti S-Cross was unveiled at the IIFA Awards in Malaysia. “The premium crossover is ready to hit the roads.

The spacious and luxurious car is powered with an unbeatable engine,” said the company in an official statement. The S-Cross would be equipped with several premium features such as projector headlights with LED daytime running lights, alloy wheels, power folding wing mirrors, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, rear AC vents, and Maruti’s SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system. The crossover would be highly spacious as even with all seats in place, it would have a boot space of 430 litres. The production has already started at company’s Manesar plant.

As for engines, the Maruti S-Cross would be powered by the Fiat-sourced 1.6-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine which would produce 118bhp of maximum power and 320Nm of peak torque.

Maruti S-Cross would be the first vehicle in India to use this engine. The engine would be coupled with a six-speed manual transmission. However, it would be offered with the top-end variants only.

Maruti S-Cross would also be available with Fiat’s 1.3-litre, four-cylinder Multi-jet engine with a five-speed manual transmission. The S-Cross would be sold through Maruti’s new premium range of dealerships NEXA, along side the Maruti Ciaz.
