Volkswagen will be launching four new products in two years. The company just announced at the Vento facelift launch.The first will be the compact sedan, which is due to be launched early next year.

The Polo-based compact sedan will be Volkswagen’s all new-model that has been designed for the Indian car market. This has been codenamed as ICS (Indian compact sedan) and it will be the German automaker’s first compact sedan in India. The second one to follow the compact sedan will be the new-generation Passat. This is one will be an all new sedan and Volkswagen have made several upgrades on this when compared to the previous generation of the Passat. The third launch for the year will be the new-generation Beetle.

The new Beetle is very muscular and will be coming to India as CKD.

This will be launched with a 1.4-litre TSI petrol engine and will be priced under 20 lakhs to make it a lot more affordable for the buyers. Volkswagen will try to cut in the advantage that BMW has with the Mini. The Beetle will be priced much lower than the Mini and somewhere close to the Fiat 500 Abarth.

The fourth launch for Volkswagen will be the SUV. This will be the new Tiguan and it will be unveiled this year at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. Volkswagen won’t get it anytime before the end of 2016. Expect it to come in by early 2017. This will be based on the MQB platform and will be lighter and a lot more nimble.
