MotoDreamz organized event in Lavasa saw over 1000 bikers and their mean machines welcomed the arrival of monsoon in Pune with Pune-Lavasa ride showing solidarity with the World Motorcycling Day that was globally celebrated on Sunday. Triumph team joined the entourage in a big number from across the country to showcase their riding skills.

The bikers came from all walks of life. From the former champion of the Asia Pacific Rally Championship (APRC) to Mumbai-Singapore Asean Route cruisers, and The Wanderer to adventure riders all assemble at the Lavasa International Convention Centre after riding a distance of 45-kms from Chandani Chowk to Lavasa under pouring rain.

The event was supported by Vodafone India and as part of the initiative the company showcased special messages under its theme “No Helmet No Ride” highlighting safety measures to be observed while riding along with Triumph.

“It was an amazing experience to host such a big number of bikers. The response was fantastic thanks to unbridled participation from everyone who believes in biking,” said Rahul Sancheti of Moto Dreamz.

MOTODAY 2015 was witnessed by vintage collectors Sam Solomon, Siddhesh Mitkar, Sachin Oswal , Jaideep Pawar and Ashish Verma. There were exhibit stalls were from well know auto brands like Triumph Motorcycles India, Motul , Giant Starkenn Cycles , Gabriel India Ltd , Scorpion Auto , 3M Bike Care , Diamond Chains , SPS bikers , NGK Sparkplugs , MOTO 101 , Rolon Chains , Renegade Designs , Transfigure Custom House , Sakri IT Solutions , Step-In Adventure , Fast Wheels Custom , ResqTech , Tyre Protector and Gabriel India Ltd.

With the event not restricted to certain make or power of the machine, bikers with their machines of all hues thronged Lavasa to witness one of its kind event and also get the thrill of riding through the ghats. The 45-km stretch has three ghats—Pirangut, Mutha and Lavasa. There was a large representation from Triumph followed by Hondas, Suzukis, Ducatis, Harley Davidsons, KTMs, Ninjas, Kawasakis and Enfields giving the LICC’s parking a breathtaking view.

Triumph India had a big participation with over 45 bikers coming in. There were exhibition stalls displaying the newest to the classics from the Triumph stable.

Some of the dignitaries included Vimal Sumbly, Managing Director of Triumph India, Pravin Patil, MD of Giant Starkenn Bikes, actress Sonali Kulkarni, whose new film ‘Shutter’ is ready for release, made their presence felt.

“We had to cancel 2 outdoor sessions in the interest of rider safety during rains,” said Monish Shah, a key member of the Organising Committee. Lt Col (Retd) Sohan Roy, who is known as North East Wanderer for his extensive riding on his Enfield Bullet, shared his experience with the riders. Lt.Col Roy gave examples of how the people of North East were more than helpful to him during his rides through the lengths and breadths of the region.

Then Rahul Deshmukh and Youhan Mubaraki shared their experience of riding from Mumbai to Singapore through the ASEAN route on their Harley Davidsons.

“The entire audience was thrilled to hear the entire journey of cutting across 7 countries, 50,000 km in 50 days.” said Neeraj Athalye, the co-founder of MotoDreamz.There were vintage classic bikes on display from the collections of various bike collectors of Pune.

Amey Thorat, Gaurav Dalvi, Monal Shah, Monish Shah, Neeraj Athalye, Niranjan Tarphe, Parag Daptardar, Praful Sancheti, Rahul Sancheti and Vikram Dhoot from MotoDreamz along with Abhay Salvi, Mayank Shah, Devendra Sawant, Suryakant Bandavane executed this event. This group of bikers organise MotoDay every year with the intension of bringing Pune back on the motorcycling map.
