A few of days back, we reported you that Fiat would launch the Abarth brand in India with a total of three cars. The first car to be launched under Abarth badging would be the 595 Competizione in August 2015, which would be followed by high-performance versions of Punto Evo and Avventura by the year end. However, the Abarth-badged duo of Punto Evo and Avventura has been spied in Himachal Pradesh without any camouflage, courtesy My Fiat World.

Abarth Punto Evo would not only get a more powerful engine but would also get several cosmetic changes both outside as well as inside. The Fiat badges would be replaced by the Abarth Scorpion symbols. As one can clearly see in the spy-shots, the Abarth badge is covered. In addition, the hot hatch would also flaunt ‘Scorpion’ alloy wheels, color-contrasting wing mirror covers, lower side decals, ‘T-Jet’ symbol at rear, and a new exhaust system. However, Abarth Avventura wouldn’t get any visual upgrades and would be as the standard model, albeit with ‘Powered by Abarth’ tagline.

The interior cabin is likely to be carried forward from the curent models in both Punto Evo and Avventura. However, both the hatch-crossover duo would boast of new seat covers with Abarth symbol. Also, it is being reported that there would be fabric seats with contrast stitching, sportier instrument dials and aluminium pedals. Just so you know, Abarth Punto would be most powerful hatchback in its segment and would fare against the Polo GT TSI.

The Italian automajor is planning to assemble both these high-performance vehicle locally at its Ranjangaon production plant to keep the prices lesser than INR 10 Lakhs (On-Road).

Under the hood, both the Abarth Punto Evo and Abarth Avventura would have the 1.4-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged T-Jet engine.

It is on offer with Linea sedan where it churns out a maximum power of 113bhp. However, it would be re-tuned to get more power of around 20-25 horses, so that the final output is 135bhp. It would be linked to a 5-speed manual transmission.
