Honda Cars India is leaving no stone unturned to create buzz about its upcoming all-new Jazz hatchback, which is scheduled to be launched on July 8, 2015. The company has now launched a separate website for the hatch, which would provide a brief introduction of the Jazz and even an individual can request a tst drive through it. Just so you know, the bookings for the Jazz have already started nationwide at Honda’s authorised dealerships at a token amount of INR 51,000.

Reportedly, all-new Honda Jazz would be launched in 12 variants.

The production of the hatch has already commenced at Honda’s Tapukara plant in Alwar, Rajasthan as the company commenced the Jazz’s exports to South Africa way earlier than the India launch. The Jazz would share its interior cabin belongings with the Honda City, on which it is actually based. The premium hatchback would offer a first-in-segment 6.2-inch touch-screen Audio/Video/ Navigation system, albeit on top-end trims only.

Honda Jazz would be pitted against the Hyundai Elite i20, which has sold more than one lakh units since its launch in August 2014. For those asking, The Honda Jazz would also be launched in diesel guise for the first time.

The petrol avatar of Honda Jazz would be powered by the 1.2-litre, four-cylinder i-VTEC engine which pumps out 89bhp of top power and 110Nm of maximum torque. It would be offered with a five-speed manual transmission.

In addition, a top-end variant would feature CVT automatic transmission with paddle shifters as well. As for diesel variants, they would be powered by the company’s tried and trusted 1.5-litre, four-cylinder i-DTEC engine which also does duties to Amaze, City and Mobilio. It would churn out 99bhp of highest power and 200Nm of peak torque, while mated to a six-speed manual transmission. The diesel variants would return a best-in-segment fuel economy of 27.3kmpl, which would make it India’s second most fuel efficient car.
