Hero to get into riding gear as well

Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer will now be getting into making riding gear as well. The company is looking at enhancing its stake in the Indian bike market and at the same time, the company is looking to increase its profits too. One of our sources shared that Hero is working with a new team on the riding gear and other accessories to help brand the company. This will be sometime next year and it is likely to be displayed at the 2016 Auto Expo as well.Hero Splendor Pro Classic 5

As per the source, the products that will be on sale will be the trunks and travelling bags, umbrellas, saddler, helmets and head protective gear, leather and imitations of leather.

Then they will also be getting a range of T-Shirts, caps, jackets and even riding gloves. We could also see them sell these through their website, which is active in guiding riders about road safety and some aspects of bike maintenance.

Now focus on scooters

Hero might be looking at selling their through their dealerships as it will want to enhance certain sections where it will be displaying the new 250cc HX 250R to differentiate it from the smaller engine capacities bikes. Hero will be adding the Impulse 250 also to this range and we could expect an upgrade on their dealership front too.

For this year, Hero’s major focus is on the scooter segment as that is the fastest growing today. It will introduce two new scooter platforms that will compete with the Honda Activa.
