Audi A3 facelift rendered
Audi might have launched the A3 last year in India, but it got into production in 2012. As product life cycle of cars have been reducing, Audi is preparing to introduce the facelift version of the A3 in international markets by the end of this year or next year. The Audi A3 gets a new pair of headlamps that resemble the styling on the facelift version of the A6. The new A6 will be launched sometime this year in India. Back to the A3, there is a revised front grilled and some minor changes at the rear too. The compact Audi will majorly get cosmetic upgrades.
As the renderings show, the A3 is likely to these things itself.
There are rumours that the A3 will get some more safety features from the bigger Audi models. We could expect Audi to introduce its new engine, especially the 1.0-litre three-cylinder from the A1 for European and North American markets. Though it is still a rumour.
The A3 in India is available with a 2.0-litre diesel and 1.8-litre turbo petrol engine options. The latter also comes on the A3 Cabriolet as well. Audi has been increasing its foot print in India and is looking at extending its lead in luxury car sales. The Ingolstadt-based automaker is at the moment the number 1 luxury car manufacturer in India.
There are no plans to get the A3 facelift in India for this year, however it could come in by the end of 2016 or early 2017. Audi A3 competes with the Mercedes-Benz CLA in India.
