Renault to double its sales in 2015 itself by increasing its products and dealerships

French automaker Renault with its plans to capture five percent of the Indian car market is expanding its current portfolio and also increasing its number of dealerships across the country. At the moment, Renault has 157 sales and service centres, which will be 205 by this December and to 280 sales offices buy the end of 2016.

Renault has been increasing its dealer network and at the same time, it is also enhancing its product portfolio. The company recently launched the Renault Lodgy, which is its new MPV.

Renault has a two per cent market share, which is predominantly due to the Duster— the company’s compact SUV.

Renault will be launching the Kayou (XBA) in India around Diwali. This will be the company’s new entry-level product and this will boost the company’s sales. At the moment, the small car market is dominated by Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai has acquired the second distant spot.

The small cars compromise of about 40 percent of the Indian car market share. With a new product in this segment, Renault is looking at increasing its market share by the end of this year.

Renault’s statement on 2015 sales plans

Renault India Managing Director Sumit Sawhney stated, “”We are sure of doubling our sales this calendar year. In 2014 we sold about 49,000 units and we am confident of achieving the target as we have everything in place— we have the right products at the right price and the right marketing and sales strategies.
